Cheap Printer, USB cable, and cost of ink

It's very frustrating trying to buy a cheap printer. First of all they don't come with a cable and some of them have the audacity to not even come with ink. I only need it for basic printing needs, mostly in B/W, but some in basic color. 10ppm B/W is fine.

How do I buy a USB printer cable cheap?

I also don't want a cheap printer that costs a fortune in ink.

How do I make sure that the ink is affordable and that the ink usage is reasonable

Finally I think I'd like to stay away from Canon. I bought a printer from them and soon after that WinXP came out and they refused to support it by releasing a WinXP driver. That really pissed me off.

I've been looking at Newegg.com but have no idea really how to do this correctly.

The most cost effective printers are usually the Canon's (because of the 4 different ink cartridge), but you said you did not want Canon printers. Them my only suggestion is stay away from Lexmark. They have cheap printers, but the ink costs as much as a printer.

For a USB cable, you can find some for 5$ to 10$, you don't need the gold plated crap that they sell you for over 20$.

In ancient times they had no statistics so they had to fall back on lies
