I'm looking for a CHEAP, SIMPLE, wifi controllable switch that doesn't need a smart phone or a special router, but rather can be controlled with a browser. Advice appreciated. That is, using a browser interface, I'd just like to be able to turn something ON or OFF remotely.

Thanks. Those are pretty pricey, though. Also, exOUtlet2 isn't wifi, I believe. Just Ethernet. Now, smartphone capable wifi switches are a few tens of dollars, I believe.

I should add that I'd like to do this on a Mac. Google Assistant is a possibility, I guess, but MacAssistant is beta and buggy.

Now, I do know that there are VERY cheap wifi smart switches (e.g. Sonoff @ ~$5) that run via Android/Google Home. So in principle an Android emulator (e.g. Bluestacks) will make it controllable on a PC. The question is whether there is some simpler way to do it.
