[SOLVED] Cheap upgrade gaming computer parts needed

I have been trying to come up with the cheapest possible components for my friend's gaming computer upgrade (1080p). He has an old antique now (I've mentioned it in a previous post). He has several components he can use from his old rig, but needs:
CPU
Motherboard
RAM (16GB)
PSU (for a RX-570 4GB)

He will use his old case, GPU, drive, and OS. Btw, his case is quite small and needs the smallest mATX board possible, and he won't give up his case. (?) He prefers Intel. Here's the kicker; it has to be $300 max. I have come up with this:
Intel i5-9400f
ASRock H310CM-HDV
Geil 2400MHz RAM
EVGA 500 BT 100-BT-0500-K1

It comes to $305.88 before shipping. He can live with that he says. But I'm open to any other suggestions if anyone cares to offer any. Or any mistakes I've made. Thanks.

GO for a Corsair CX450 and up the motherboard to a B365 motherboard.

An H310 motherboard will not work unless it ships with a later bios.

Yikes! That board takes the price over his limit. The Asrock 310 board and i5-9400f is good with any BIOS P410 (March 2019) or later. But you think Newegg would have older boards?

Unfortunately, that was no help. Told me to ask the manufacturer (??!!)

Newegg doesn't make it and it's good advice. Many motherboards might stil have the release bios on it. Otherwise try to talk your friend into an AMD build.

The Corsair CX 450 mentioned earlier is a fine budget PSU, but at their current prices I would go with the Seasonic M12II 520, which is currently $40 after rebate at Newegg. Its a crazy good PSU for that price point and modular to boot.

Feedback time: All good. The Asrock H310CM-HDV board came with the latest BIOS available. In fact the box was marked "Supports 9th gen Intel Core processors". He's able to game with us now like a normal person. Thanks to all for your help.

Newegg doesn't make it and it's good advice. Many motherboards might stil have the release bios on it. Otherwise try to talk your friend into an AMD build.

I know Newegg doesn't make it, but what good is calling the manufacturer? They don't know what stock Newegg's various warehouses around the country have.

Sorry. I misinterpreted your earlier comment. I thought you meant that the advice from Newegg to ask the manufacturer was "good advice". I apologize. You obviously were referring to remixislandmusic's comment. I'm slow sometimes.
