Hi guys, I have a few, maybe stupid, questions.
Last year, I purchased Gigabyte GTX 670 factory OCed gpu.
Since then I collected money to buy new CPU. I saw i5-4670K and I really liked it, but I have a small problem: I don't have enough money to get new CPU and a high end mobo.
I do not plan to go SLI or more than 2 sticks of 4GB RAM @ 1600 MHZ (side question: do I need more RAM/frequency and why?) or more than 2 Hard drives (one ssd and one storage) etc.
So, I will use my computer for gaming and some programming, but not like pro rendering on anything like that. I use single 1080p 2D monitor, and that won't change any time soon.
So, finally, my question is: with my needs, and budget, should I really go for "high end" mobo? What's the point of it actually, all difference I see is size (which I don't really have problem with since I have HAF 912+ case), number of slots for GPU/RAM, as well as RAM frequency and number of SATA 2/3 slots. I think I don't need any of that, so IMO, its not worth the money. I wanted to ask people that know this better than me for opinion and advice.
Of course, I don't want to skip bios and overclocking. But since I'm taking rather good components (I think), I don't think I'll necessarily need to overclock any time soon.
Thanks for reading, any help or advice is appreciated.
