Hey folks. Im in the planning phases of building a system and have seen pauls hardware and the like use windows keys from various websites such as reddit, kinguin etc. Are these reliable or will i regret this purchase? Thnx

Solution
Its not just about what the ethical choice is.

The key is obtained by other writing down the key from a legitimate license sticker OR by using a keygen.

So the key you purchase is either ALREDY registered and being used by a different user, or best case scenario it is a key that has not been sold yet.
When the rightful owner of that key goes to install it on his computer it will fail, they will call Microsoft, rightful owner has the sticker and proof of purchase and thus their install of widnows will get activated and yours will be deactivated.
Ask yourself this.

Does it sound legit if some guy on the street corner is selling windows license keys and when you give him the money, he gives you a key printed out on a piece of paper with no box, no license sticker or anything else? No of course it does not.

The keys you get from those places are either already used, or keys that on a box that is going to be purchased and used legitimately by someone else.

If some dude on a youtube video recommended a website for 32GB DDR4 for $20...you'd be suspect, right? Scam or stolen, right?
Why would you think software is any different?

Why would Microsoft support getting windows 10 for only $20? If that was true, then why is windows still selling for $100 on every other major website?

It's just a "fancier" type of stealing. Don't fall for it!

Paul has been a very good guy on tech, but I was shocked that he is actually recommending users to buy windows off of that site. It's not a good choice.

Haha yeah I know it's not a legit way to do it, I have never done it because my brother works for Microsoft and I get any software I want for like $25. I was just saying, if there was a more legit way of not buying it legit, try Paul's recommendation.

Did you fail to read ALL the other comments in here?
He is explicitly suggesting a not-legit site. Why? Because they give him a kickback for doing that.

I don't care how correct he is on other stuff, he is wrong on this.
