I plan to raid 0 my 4 x 120gb ssd but im not sure which raid controller should i choose, since this is my first time to try a controller i always use built in but since ill combine all 4 ill be short on sata port so i would be needing a controller right?

Now what would be the right raid controller for me?

In addition i'll be using raid 1 for 2 x 2TB hdd for my data storage like videos, pictures etc.

Havent seen a raid controller in real life lol 😀

Hi gm_jonjon!

If you want best and most reliable i suggest you LSI controllers! but they are not compatible with all desktop motherboards!

1-system specs?
2-how much do you want to spend? :)

system specs ---->
core i7 950
12gb ram
gtx580
Sabertooth x58 mobo
Cougar GX g1050
system specs ---->

Willing to spend $50 - $200 i only want to run 4 x SSD in raid 0 and 2 x HDD in raid and the total slot i would be needing is not less than 6 satas..

Im only using it as workstation, basic to intermediate video editing, graphics editing, i multi task between 4-10 applications everytime i work.

I definitely have no idea on raid controllers, LSI or Intel anyway ill do my own research about that, its just that what i need is a raid controller that could handle 6 or more satas and plug and play not so complicated. 😀
