$100-$120 GPU?

Hello Forumers.

Currently I am thinking of GTS 450, but since I saw how powerful and less costly GTS 250 is, but no DX11, I want to see if there are other GPU's more worth than a GTS 450 BUT with DX11( I just want DX11 lol).

Can you guys give me cheaper , powerful than GTS 450 w/DX11? ($100-120)

Also Radeon Cards are okay, but I seriously am more fine with Nvidia
but you guys can show me a list of Radeon and Nvidia GPUs.

Thanks for the help guys!
Also this is what I am getting:

i3-2100
4gb RAM
Asrock H61M-DGS
Antec VP-450

Either one would be fine for those tasks. There are only like 5 games that support PhysX, and you won't notice the lack of it when playing one of those games on a Radeon. The only real difference is the HD 7750 will be faster, especially when playing in DX11 (newest games). Also that card draws very very little wattage - so no extra power plug required. May be cooler and quieter because of this, depending on what card you get.
if u can spend more $9 then get this one which is little bit lower in performance then hd 6850 and gtx 460 in some cases gives same performance as those two cards and way better then that gts 450.:)

if u want to keep it under $120 then this:)

for better drivers this under $120 and with good performance.:)

There are 3 Radeon cards that are more powerful and cheaper than a GTS450.

HD6750, HD7750 and HD6770.

If you really want Nvidia, get a GTX550Ti. Same performance as a HD6770 for $15 more. Still, the HD6790 costs the same as a GTX550Ti and is faster.

the hd 6770 is not same as the gtx 550ti sorry to say but its right it is about the same as hd 6790 performance or just little bit less in performance mate.:).the hd 6790 is performing well in many cases then that gtx 550ti but the gtx 550ti is just about 1-3% less in performance then that card.:)

Don't hate me on this but the reason I choose Nvidia is because I hear Radeon does not fix drivers very well for their GPU's and has bugs alot. I cannot take that chance since I won't upgrade my PC all the time, maybe every five years.

550ti = HD 7750. HD 6790 is much better.

ModernKamikaze - I've never had a problem with an AMD driver for the past 3 years. Catalyst Control Center has a few glitches sometimes, but the drivers are solid in my experience.

I want the 7750, but will it bottleneck the i3-2100,4gb RAM?
And I only have PCI.e x16 no 3.0 version. Will it still work?

Absolutely not. That would be a nicely balanced budget gaming rig.

And yes. Though you may want to flash your BIOS to its newest version just to ensure compatability.

That 450 has GDDR3. Half the bandwidth of the GDDR5 cards.

And that 7750 has a (louder, hotter) single-slot cooler. I'd suggest this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102985

Free shipping and a pre-overclock!

Other than gaming, what about multimedia, 1080p Movies, which one should I get?
GTS 450 or 7750?
also does CUDA and Physx have any advantage over AMD?

I'm sure now on 7750 :)
Last question can I use my 250w PSU?
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=c01298195&lang=en&cc=us&taskId=120&contentType=SupportFAQ&prodSeriesId=3644673&prodTypeId=12454
its a Bestec 250w PSU not widely known.

sorry but you cant use that card on that psu that doesnt have power to power that card it will be riskier even your psu is not of good quality you should upgrade it but even upgrade of psu will not help because your cpu is kinda weak and it will bottleneck that card so go for hd 6450 or hd 6570 at max dont even think going higher then that card on that psu and cpu it will be riskier + cpu bottleneck so be safe and go with hd 6570 it is also an good card will clear up your needs.:)

goodluck:)

Yeah like my first post has the specs I am getting for an upgrade I was wondering if I could keep the PSU, oh well.. I'll go for Antec VP450.

oh sorry i was so lazy i didnt see that if u r getting that rig and that card then good luck for your hd 7750 it will work with charm have a nice day if u can collect more then you can also get hd 6850 or gtx 560 for some more juice.:)

HD 6570 draws the same amount of power as the HD 7750, but I wouldn't try either on that old and feeble PSU.

Your CPU will bottleneck you, but you should be able to play almost all games with that card (some on low settings b/c of your CPU).

You'll need a PSU that exhausts out the back of your case, btw. I suggest this Antec PSU for $5 more than the VP450. Also if you decide to do your own build in the future (I'm sure you will), it will support up to an HD 7850 with no problems.

but isn't 450w alot more?

Aha - but quality over quantity, my friend. Your current PSU probably would only output 180w at most, and the 450w Antec should output about as much as it says, but it would be less efficient, and would have to work a bit harder than the EA-380D to supply the power to your components.

Also, the fan is on the bottom of that PSU, doing nothing to cool it in your case. It would just suck in and recirculate hot air. The EA-380D is a great PSU, recommended by most budget builders.
