I'm building a PC for casual gaming, nothing hardcore like CSGO. Ill be doing a little editing as well. I have this build but dont know whether or not the motherboard is too good for what I want out of it.

You can find a cheaper motherboard. Your getting one that probably costs a little extra because it supports over clicking (z97). Since your cpu isn't overclockable, try finding a non z97 mobo. This one seems good. . https://pcpartpicker.com/part/asrock-motherboard-h81probtc

Oops my bad. Here's aa good motherboard https://pcpartpicker.com/part/asrock-motherboard-h97anniversary. Also, since you said your doing light gaming, you can drop your price significantly more. For light gaming, you only need 8gb of ram. You can also drop to a 120gb ssd, which can hold you os and a couple of games. There are plenty of methods to use a USB to mount the os as well, so you don't need the disc drive. That should drop your total costs a fair amount. Good luck with your build.

Thank you man. I'm gonna be rendering videos and such so thats why the 16gb of RAM. I think ive decided NOT to go with a SDD because it just pushes the budget way too much. I dont know maybe that will change. This is my most recent set up so far with the HDD because im going to need the space for programs and content. Also went higher on the GPU.
