I was lookig at graphics cards and remembered someone told me that they are a lot cheaper when bought from the US.

I found the same card on amazon-
http://www.amazon.co.uk/EVGA-GeForce-Cooling-Graphics-Display/dp/B00E9I99WE/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1384862138&sr=8-13&keywords=gtx+760
and this one-
http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-GTX760-Dual-Link-04G-P4-3768-KR/dp/B00E0N49C8/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1384862813&sr=8-6&keywords=gtx+760
The US one is much cheaper and it says the shipping is free.

I am thinking about buying one of these but it seems to easy. to save all that money by going to the US version of the site.

Would it really work?
Does everyone order stuff from the US version?

You can buy cheaper from the US if:
1.You have to go there and you get to pick them up for yourself.
2.Somebody you know has to go in the US and he can bring them for you.

If you order by mail. Taxes and VAT will bring the price to about the same as in your country.

I got my psu and gpu from US when my brother went there.

Cheaper? Complete poppycock. The only way to get the item for the US price, is you must be in the US to buy it. If you order it from outside the US, besides paying out your butt for shipping, you are going to be billed all import duties, tariffs and taxes when it arrives at your door. It actually will end up costing you more than just buying it there.

If you are traveling, and if you have time to shop, and if you or someone you know wants to pack it around, has room in suitcase, etc. Maybe not everyone has a wife like me? I have a tough time finding room for a toothbrush, let alone pc parts what with airlines charging $50 or more to check luggage. Me personally, the savings would have to be enough to pay my airfare to have mess with it! You were very fortunate to have someone willing to pick up parts for you while traveling. Very fortunate! I guess maybe if I was travelling for business, but then it would still be a pain to find time to shop for someone.

I know this is old, but this comment got me REALLY heated

: £270
The cheapest model costs £270 which is equal to $350

Here is the exact same model on Newegg costing $280

In the UK I am paying $70 more (£55) more only because I live In the UK. If postage from US cost <£40 I would definetley consider.

Taking into account shipping and VAT, it's likely you'd pay more shopping from the US.
