My name is Mike and I plan on buying a computer (pre-built or build it myself), and then selling it on Craigslist as profit for some extra cash, I want the cheapest build I can find. I have never built a computer but I'm kind of tech savy so I think I could do it if I had to. I was wondering if this is a good deal:

Ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/1-FAST-DELL-DUAL-CORE-2-DUO-GHZ-DESKTOP-COMPUTER-PC-8-/270792284865?_trksid=p5197.m7&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D5%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D2104617300512339186

I found this combo on Newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.719521
(Is this all I would need or is there something else I would need)

At the very least I want 2GB RAM 160GBHDD and a Duel core processor (I don't care what brand)
If you guys could build be something like this for $150 or less that would be awesome. My budget is $200-250

I'll probably sell them on Craigslist for $250-300. Refurbished parts are Ok. If you need any other details let me know.
Any site is fine: I'd prefer Newegg.

Also I don't need:
Keyboard
Mouse
Speakers
Monitor
Operating System

What kind of tools would I need.

Tools you need: Credit Card and Screwdriver. that's all...

And for selling pre-built cases, Let me recommend something, You should pick the best looking cases so that people would want to buy it. J/S

You can go for:

Intel
or
AMD

AMD = cheap

And btw you'll probably have to raise your budget to $250-300 per PC.

Also 500GB Hardrives are Standard -Same price as a 160GB @$40. 2GB-4GB RAM Is fine.

Having a motherboard with USB 3.0 would probably benefit.

Get a decent power supply.

AND for the best looking case with the most features look at the NZXT M59.

These will be really basic no real gaming (maybe flash games) Microsoft Office, Youtube... etc I plan on selling on Craigslist or to Students, so I cannot be sure what their going to do with them but for $250 I'm sure they don't go out and buy battlefield 3 and put it on this thing (at least I hope not) If you could go to the links I posted and see which one is better, if it's worth it.

If you want cheap parts, buy them on e-bay. Look for parts sold used by users, not retail sellers.
Many people, me included, sell old parts, not looking for top dollar, but just to get unneeded parts out of the house.
Just check out the sellers reputation first before bidding.

I am somewhat dubious about the viability of making any money by selling completed pc's on craig's list.

Ok... I see computers with 512MB memory and 40GB HDD being sold all the time for 150-200 bucks, If I can give them an actually decent computer for $50 more why wouldn't they buy it

People on craigs list want an extremely good deal like 1/2 retail or less and they all have internet access. they will look up the parts you list in the system and see for themselves that they can buy it cheaper than you are selling it for. I would definately find a different sales avenue.

They are being listed for sale. that doesn't mean anyone buys them. I have personaly listed stuff for sale on craigs list at very cheap prices. all i got was phone call after phone call of lowballers trying to get the item for a song and dance.

Maybe you're right... any ideas then for some extra cash?
