Hi, I am looking to upgrade from my laptop to a PC however I do not have much money and don't work. I will be getting the money from birthday's and christmas. I have around $300 so far, but, I am fully aware that a good cheap gaming computer cannot be built for that amount. I am looking for a build that would be able to play all the latest games on medium or high with around 60+ fps. I am quite new to computer parts and pricing etc. So, I do not know how much this might cost. If someone could recommend a build below that would be wonderful, thank you so much! Also, what would be the best brand of keyboards that would be long lasting, mechanical and not too expensive, thanks again!

I wouldn't think of spending anything on a keyboard atm, probably just buy the cheapest one and use it till you can buy a decent one. Never had a keyboard failed on me yet, had some cheap ones still running after 5+ years that are like under $30.

For Computer, you didn't mention what you need, like if you need a monitor + OS + computer and lets assume you only get $600 total to spend from christmas gifts. Its gonna be a really tight budget.

^ have a look at this video for some insight.

Sorry I didnt clarify, I already have a monitor and OS so I am only looking to spend the money on a computer, then get the keyboard later

Like I said, I am aware that $300 is too tight, I am willing to save up till next year or the year after

I would say $500 is probably the minimum to get decent performance (medium-high settings) in games at 1080P.

You can go for a cheaper GPU options if 500$ is over your budget. Like GTX 650 / AMD 7850. If you ask me 1GB cards are enough at 1080p resolution for most of the games.

I forgot to mention I live in AUS :/ also, buying from 3 different online shops means around $300+ for shipping
