Hi. I'm trying to find the cheapest screen that I could use connected by HDMI as portable external display. I want to power it by USB-C 12 V. I don't need any image quality, it can be super color-inaccurate.
Maybe there is some solution from the area of market I didn't check?
I checked separate LCD + scaler option but it is not cheaper than already existing display. I have old 10" laptop that I could take screen off and find a scaler for it but I think it'll take too much of power. I saw cheap noname screen from china but they have analog input.

Cheapest would be a raspberry PI hdmi screen, they get power from usb.

Thank you. That's what I wanted to see. I didn't check displays specifically made for RPi.

I want to use it as external monitor on camera just because on my camera the display doesn't turn around.

I found couple options on Ali: 320x480 for $15 and 480x800 for $20. And they even work from 5 V which is super convenient. They don't have separate buttons, like screen modules with separate scaler boards, and they supposed to be controlled by software on source device. Camera doesn't have any control over the external display so I don't know how it'll work out. Just ordered one, I'll see.

Thank you.

If anyone else have any suggestions, I'll be glad to see.

Thanks.

My LCD arrived. It's MPI 4008. It works with Windwos normally, but when I'm trying to connect it to the camera, it shows noise in lines. Camera works ok, I tried with TV, it gives proper video to TV.
In camera settings I can only choose resolution between 1080p, 1080i and "auto". LCD is 800x480. 1080i shows "not support" message by the screen. Auto and 1080p shows lines of noise and some ghosts of image or color that should be there.

Is there a way to make it work? Does it require some specific driver that Windows installed on its own but camera can't do that?

Your cheapest options would be a rpi offical small screen as shown above. However if you dont care about picture quality you can always hit up goodwill for an old monitor that has hdmi support or just use a TV like I am :)
