Hi, I've reading a lot of threads in the forum trying to find this answer, I'm about to get this card for a reasonable price, and I've been told I need to upgrade my PSU ( AF-B500P, 500 WATTS), because I dont have the 6 pin connector I require for the card.

So 2 questions:

1.-Regarding my actual PSU, do I really need to replace it, can somebody confirm this info? the PSU seems to be powerful enough but I just can't figure out that extra connector that will come with the graphics card (It'll be my first time installing a graphic card)

2.-Is there a really cheap or the cheapest option that I could buy from Newegg, Ebay or similar?, some options are over 50 USD but wanted to see if I could get something cheaper.

Thanks!!

PSUs are insanely overpriced here in Mexico, the only place that i've seen them with decent prices is Amazon.com.mx, the cheapest one that i can recommend you from there is this one:

http://www.amazon.com.mx/EVGA-100-W1-0500-KR-Fuente-Certificada-ATX12V/dp/B00H33SFJU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1444105557&sr=8-1&keywords=evga+500w

Thats an tier 3 PSU for a budget non-power hungry build, is not suitable for overclocking or anything fancy. There is this one also:

http://www.amazon.com.mx/XFX-Wired-Bronze-Power-Supply/dp/B004RJ8EKI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1444105581&sr=8-1&keywords=xfx

Now thats a great PSU, made by seasonic, if you want to overclock or just want a decent PSU, get that one, its worth every cent.
If you want a (very) good PSU instead of a PSU-shaped time bomb, 50 USD is roughly where you should look at as a starting point.

For inspiration/reference, here's the PSU list:
http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html

As far as PSU capacity is concerned, you didn't mention the rest of your PC's specs but unless you have something highly unusual or massively overclocked, a high quality 500W PSU should be more than enough.

Lol, I am!!

I haven't had problems with it so far, it came with the PC (Custom Rig) and right now I'm running a Radeon 4670 card, can't complain (I play Dota 2 just fine), but using Premiere or After Effects gets hard only after some point, but I'm positive that the GTX 960 would satisfy my needs.

PS I'm reading all your options, I'll check them out as well.

PS 2, What would you think about this one?
