Good Day to all.
This is the scenario, On my Desktop, while i was typing some codes on my Notepad++, my PC went into black screen with message usually got from the monitor saying "No Connection, Check Signal Cable", although i can still hear the system unit is still powered on, i also noticed that there are no response to USB keyboard on Capslock and numeric keys when pressed(cause it will appear on the corresponding LED), I also happen to notice that the usb optical mouse have no LED indication (the flashing red) that indicates it is attached and working, it is like as if it is not attached. To my dismay, i pressed the power button for a forced shutdown. I waited for some couple of minutes then i power it on but it doesn't display any Info on the screen during boot. i waited but no luck, still the screen displays a Message on monitor "No Connection, Check Signal Cable".
For my limited troubleshooting abilities, I tried using a bootable flash drive which have Ultimate Boot CD then choosing the tool MemTest86+ to check if my Memory have problems, so far it passed. Also with regards to hard disk issue, i tried to check it using the software HDD Regenerator and it displayed 2 Delays, though when i bought this 2nd hand PC on April 2018, i already saw this 2 Delays, it never gave an impact on my daily usage. I'm already thinking to use a software named PassMark BurnInTest but im thinking of the possibility of my hardware getting further damage.
My PC specs are these:
LG XPION
Intel Core 2 Duo E6550
2 GB Memory
160 GB HDD
Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64
After some several hours, i tried again to turn on my desktop pc and to my surprise. every is normal. Then i resumed using it for steady 6 hours. I was looking for some files when it happened again the message displayed "No Connection. Check Signal Cable". I turned it off again using forced shutdown by pressing power button. Because this is the case, i let the desktop turned off for a while, then tried turning it on to get some screenshots. Everything was fine but this repeated symptoms are really disturbing for my self study.
The VGA Cables are pretty much new due to its quality and the desktop has no graphics card attached.
Other problem observed and not much of a priority for me is that i noticed whenever i use a flash drive to access my files in it, no attached usb storage is displayed on windows explorer. If my suspicion was correct, i rushed to open Device Manager and i see some item on Universal Serial Bus Controllers > Intel (R) ICH9 Family USB2 Enhanced Host Controller - 293A ? Something like that has an exclamation icon. so i tried to disable the item...then revert it to enable. after some seconds, my flash drive is already detected. this is always the scenario. i have to disable-enable that specific item in Device manager for it to make usb storage get detected. I tried also to make a flash drive connected before turning on my computer and after waiting for Windows 7 i noticed the flash drive gets detected. So is this a faulty driver? or sign of malware? I even have an updated antivirus.
I'm not really expert much in hardware troubleshooting, i can assemble a desktop unit but this is my first time encountering such issue.
..buying another PC might not be a good option for me.
Any troubleshooting suggestions are welcome.
