Right, well thats what i *think* ill be getting, i totally forgot which ATI card i should get, i was told XFX as they were good manufacturers, was wondering either get vanilla or the ones that are already overclocked, (ill be overclocking). Hmm what else, confused between the MB's because the Asus P6T Deluxe V2 doesent have good spacing for Crossfire, while the EVGA one has more space between them, except the Asus one's mem can be OC'd above 1600, i dont know if i really need more than 1600, but ill just put that in there...

Power Supply, it looked nice, so i just posted that up there lol, 1000W should be more than enough for a system like that. Hard drive, pretty obvouse since i wont be going RAID, just took a simple fast drive with enough space...kinda overkill for games really.

Still need help choosing the optical drive, Moniter, mice, keyboard, im pretty sure ill either get the thermaltake Xtreme 120 for my heatsink, or the noctua (forgot its full name x.x)

And i think thats all for now, ill be fittin it in either antec 1200 or HAF 932, (i know the HAF has better airflow BUT THE ANTEC, IT IS SO PWETTY!!)

Go with newegg. Avoid TigerDirect if you can. TD has, or at least had, more restrictive return policies.

ok, swap the PSU for an 850w by corsair or coolermaster, you don't need a 1kw even for dual cards.

and drop one of the 4890's, put the money you save towards an ATi DX11 card in October/November as it will be close to as powerful as the two while using a lot less energy and being able to play DX11 games. Oh also that 850w should be able to handle two of them.

not alot of games use DX11 now, do they? ill have to see if i want to wait for those cards to come out or just get the ones now....

I like the idea of the 850w Corsair PSU better than the 1000W. The 850w has a 7 year warranty while the 1000w only has 5. This is because the 850w one has higher quality components. Also the new corsair Obsidian case is amazing check it out.

that obsidian case has like absolutely no airflow o.o, i dont know how you'd run triple SLI without overheating like crazy

I think you should go back and take a look at that toms link. While pure read/write numbers may make it seem the velociraptor is not worth the money. take a look at the access time and I/O performance section. It may have been hard to see that yellow (color assigned to the velociraptor) way up there by itself. These numbers represent actual performance better then simple transfer rates.

- Go with the spacing for Crossfire if you think that's important - you won't need or gain anything from higher memory OC.

- From ATI website for 4890 (Seems light, but hey! So 850 is fine.):

- Pick your own mouse

- Case: A very personal thing, but one thing I never thought was that the Antec 1200 was SO PWETTY. To me, its 40 pounds of noisy mesh. To each his own.

hehe, what i like about the antec is its blue LED and the full black enterior, i know you can paint the inside of any other case black, but im pretty new to building a computer. And i do find the antec very smexy with some blue cold cathodes, its just me

Raptor is still fastest, but not enough even in benchmarks to justify price, noise, and heat (although the Black's are hot & noisy too).

Plus, the performance gains seen in benchmarks don't seem to translate to noticeable performance in RL.

HDD performance doesn't make much difference in video games. So in your case a good 1TB drive may be a better investment. But if your really looking to speed up boot times the real money lies in SSDs. I would consider dropping on of the radeons and moving up to the intel x25-m or a 128GB patriot torxqs.

But I would just like to point out that the velociraptors are a whole different animal then the old raptors. Owning both I can say the velociraptors are much quieter and cooler then the old drives.

SSD's cost a *** load...i do believe the 300 GB ones cost around 500$, very costly, i know there fast, and they are smexy, but i cant afford that for just ONE SSD

i need some recommendations for a screen, 1920x1200 res is nice, anything rec, like good quality, and such. Dont know much on screens
