Hello

I am looking for some expert opinion. I need to upgrade my videocard. Since the GTX570 is considered the 'best for the bucks' in oct's review, and within my budget. I am now left with the question if it works optimal on my system. Some help is much appreciated.

Sys info:

Vista
6600 2.4hz dual core
2gb
Coolermaster650w
(atx12v - RP650PCAP)
PCE16x
(currect card GTX260)

Upgrade is aimed at improving game experience.

Many many thanks!

M.

Your CPU is seriously going to bottleneck your GPU. You also need 4GB for better performance. Also, Cooler master doesn't make good PSU's it might just crash when you play games. I suggest you make an entire new computer instead of upgrading just the GPU.

Thanks for your reply. That is not what I was hoping for, but think expecting it :)

Might not be the easiest question. What would be the best card I can look for within this setup?

World of Warcraft
BF3 (which doesnt work because of this card)
and getting exciting about the Skyrim.
In the near future Diablo3

These games doesnt necessarily have to perform at ultra level. I know these games can be quite heavy.
Just looking for a descent, significant upgrade that can play these games at a respectable performance.
Hopefully with the setup mentioned above.

Many many thanks for your help!!

I'd probably go for a 6950 or 560 Ti. Better bang for your buck than GTX 570. Oc'ed 560 Ti = GTX 570 for $100 less. Or you can get a 6950 and try to flash it to a 6970. I mean it's still going to be bottlenecked. And you'll still be laggy in BF3 due to the fact that it's threaded for 4 cores. I have a Q9300 Core 2 Quad. Might be able to give it to you if I can find my old core 2 duo to give to my dad.
