Checking A Hard Drive for Data Corruption

Hello,

I am using Windows 10 and would like to know whether the system automatically checks and marks bad sectors in the hard drive so that data may never be written in them. Or is it necessary to install a program with which to check the drive periodically?

Depends on the hard drive; some have there own way of checking others (usually cheaper ones)dont. I'd recommend a separate application.

EDIT: if you do find that the hdd has a bad "sector" replace the drive as it will help you in the long run

I thought the hard-drive's printed circuit board is involved in this operation; am I incorrect?

No, the printed circuit board should not have anything to do with this other than physical damage

Possibably, it depends on the terms and conditions of their warranty. They might not accept it because it happened through general usage. But I'd call and ask for a replacement anyway.
