Wanting to upgrade my CPU as I heard graphics are built into most Toshiba (laptop) CPU's, but honestly don't know where to start...

Reason I am looking to upgrade is because it causes minor crashes at least 3 times a week, mainly just the annoying "graphics driver crashed" and closes the program affecting it, drivers are fully updated (to 2010 from Toshiba site) I have even had crashes on very low graphics games such as Grand Theft Auto San Andreas.

I have found a compatibility checker online, but I am confused what series my processor is, here is all I know from running Speccy.

PC Name/Model
Manufacturer: Toshiba
Model: Satellite C660-19E
Short part num: PSC0LE

CPU
Cores: 1
Threads: 1
Name: Intel Celeron 900
Code Name: Penryn
Package: Socket P (478)
Technology: 45nm
Specification: Intel Celeron CPU 900 @ 2.20GHz

OS
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1
Type: Notebook

Looked and found nothing online, also looked through the service manual, nothing on CPU whch was pretty odd... If anyone knows of a compatible CPU or even an easier way to upgrade graphics, would be much appreciated, thanks. :)

Solution
A cpu can't be soldered with just a soldering iron. The solder points cover the bottom of the cpu but your cpu isn't soldered, it's socket p. As with any laptop cpu upgrade, there is no cpu support list and any upgrade is done at your own risk or google to see what cpus others have tried.

If you do have a mpcie slot then you could use an egpu. There is no pcie slots on laptops, that's a desktop slot. Mpcie is used for wireless cards but since it uses pcie, there are adapters to x16 slots for gpus.

While it is true the graphics are built into cpus, that is for modern cpus: first gen i series and later. New stuff does not fit on old sockets so a cpu with graphics won't work. The intel gpu is soldered to the mobo, as was all intel...

Thanks, I read somewhere someone managed it, I'm pretty good with a soldering iron and would be no bother removing it from motherboard and putting new one in, but no clue what processor they used, also people talking about ideas of putting a graphics card in the PCI-E slot under keyboard.... As I say just looking for slightly updated graphics, just asking about CPU as (and I am not sure if it's true) I read the graphics are built into CPU on most portables... So even an update after 2010 for C660-19E would be amazing. :)

Failing that I might as well buy new PC with better spec. 😀

The intel gpu is soldered to the mobo, as was all intel igpus of that era but again, you can't use a soldering iron. I doubt you could find a replacement anyways. It's easier to find the mobo.
