I'm planning on upgrading my computer with a R9 280 graphics card and a 750 watt Corsair power supply. My current specs are an ASrock FM2A75 motherboard, an AMD A-10 4.20 ghz processor, my Seagate 1Tb hard drive, and 8 gb Ram. My current power supply is a 500 watt Corsair and my current graphics card is a Radeon R7770, which I am currently having issues with and have to underclock it. So just let me know if this is a good, lasting investment and if it is compatible.

I was afraid of that. Avoid Corsair CX series power supplies. Their quality is just not what it should be. Minimum requirements for a R9 280 are 550 watts from a high quality supply. Have a look at these. The EVGA is best bang for buck.
