Question Checking the resistance to ground to detect a short circuit ?

Hello

I have an HP ProBook x360 11 GE EE.

I took measurements to detect a short circuit on all the pins of the battery connector .
The sixth pin reads 0.00. Should I understand that there is a short circuit on it ?

No.

The only way to be certain is to have the applicable schematics and testing/troubleshooting procedures.

You need a list showing what voltages etc. should be measured on each pin and the allowed tolerances for those measurements.

There also may be some requirements for jumpers etc. to permit proper testing.

I measured the voltages on the pins without battery.
1.2.28 volt
2..2.28 volt
3.3.33 volt
4.3.33 volt
5.000 volt
6.000 volt
7.000 volt
8.000 volt

Same issues and concerns.

What are the voltages supposed to be?

What about the need for jumpers? Or "dummy" loads"?

What about measurements between Pin "X" and Pin "Y"?

Good that you can measure and obtain voltages.

Not good if there is no documentation or source indicating that 2.28v and 3.33v are the expected and correct voltage results.
