My mobo is GA-85M-D3H with i-5 @ 3.10 Ghz, 8 MB RAM, 1TB HDD. I have Windows 10 in Drive C: , Linux Mint 19 Tata in Drive D: both are of 300 GB . The rest is drive E: for storage. I have installed Linux only 7 days ago. Recenty sincer a month I am noticing the clock in Windows 10 is losing time. But in Linux the clock is perfect. Now in windows the clock is losing time of 6 hours in 24 hours. After adjusting to auto it is coming in right position but gradually losing time noticable after 3/4 hours. On Manual adjustment the same happens.
Had it been a hardware problem it would have occurred in Linux also. So Im baffled. Please provide me help and necessary instruction in this regard.

Solution
There's definitely something wrong with the quartz crystal involving time keeping (not CPU frequency, that's different). The time shouldn't be floating that much so soon - specifically with a new CMOS battery.

The reason Linux is fine would probably do with the constant sync with an atomic clock pool. pool.ntp.org

Hi mdd1963,
As per your advice I have changed the CMOS Battery CR 2023 Lithium battery 3 volt. But the result is unchanged. Rather the Linux also requires date adjustment at the start of the computer.. Please provide me further help if any?
