News China levels anti-trust charges against Nvidia – country accuses chipmaker of violating anti-monopoly regulations, examining the $7 billion Mellano...

nvlink & cuda would likely be their way out of any monopoly issues.

issue is whats any nation going to do to nvidia?
a few billion fine? to them thats cost of doing business.
ban sales of products? harming the place that bans em and theres always buyers to replace em.

proving a monopoly against nvidia would be extremely hard as there is amd, intel, & china's homegrown gpu's....they might not be as good as nvidia but they exist and ignoring cuda/nvlink not much nvidia can do about their competitors not catching up fast enough.

It's going to be interesting how the situation develops. China needs Nvidia for the foreseeable future, so they might use this situation to leverage better prices.

"better prices" at most the RTX 4090D gets replaced with a $1300 4080 Ti that has 20GB of VRAM and the exact same bin of AD102.
