Since they reached this level of performance using a MIPS chip emulating a x86 chip, then yeah, it's impressive - it means that it's feasible to run x86-only apps on the chip, and that native apps will run much faster.

I garner almost very CPU made in the last 20 years has had backdoors ... The company isn't called "Intel" for nothing ... How do you think the five eyes have such good "eyesight"?

The best Excavator released in 2015 was the A12-8800B Pro, a 2C4T chip with a 2.1GHz base and a 3.4GHz boost. (There were faster ones, including a quad-core desktop, but they weren't released in 2015.)

I agree; the US Tech industry gave the Reds all their IP for a quick buck. I will not feel sorry for them when it happens.

You can tell from the specifications and the die shot that they are very different. IPC looks on par with Zen, but the clocks are much lower.
