WHAT??? and they couldn't have released this version along with the unibody aluminum one internationally why? choice would only benefit the consumer and HTC could use the love...

I can see a pattern, Korea gets better versions of S3 and S4, now China getting a better HTC one.
Now apple just have to handicap the international iphone... Too bad I'd never buy that crap anyways.

you failed to mention that the chinese version also has dual sim card slots, i guess this is the main reason why they got a removable back cover, thus the expandable storage, it makes sense because many chinese carry two phones or dual sim phones as it is the norm in China.

A device with expandable storage? An external port? My god what a breaktaking and unique idea! Apple should patent this! Amazing what humanity will think of in the 1970's. Waaaaait a second....

Whats the fuss with all this SDcard nonsense? I have an 4gb sdcard in my phone... i never took it out... so what`s better than internal storage? Main problem should be the non removable battery... which all know that LI-ION loose their capacity over time used or not... and who will throw 600 euro for a device with 2 year battery life (within 2 year li-ion accu loose 30-50% of capacity - and that is a proven fact)!

The lack of expandable shortage and replaceable battery is nothing short of planned obsolescence. They want you to need to buy a new phone in a couple of years because the one you have won't hold a charge and won't hold the new media you want to put on it.

Dear HTC
Because your phone does not have a removable battery or a microSD card slot, you have lost a customer, even though I currently use one of your phones and love it. Sorry, the Galaxy S4 just has your and Apple's phones completely outgamed on that merit alone.

you guys all use more than 32gb? i use about 6gb lol... my bro got this phone. construction quality is more important in the long run than expandable storage on an already large memory, and battery which will be charged nightly regardless. for me IMO. he's happy with his purchase, and i'm very very jealous.

How about user replaceable batteries...? Intelligent consumers should not have to be subjected to constant search for places to charge their phones, a la iCrap.

Ummm, I think they have come to realize that. They lost a great deal of costumers and are now suffering from a reality check.... Alot of people who used to purchase HTC phones were not the dumb types that flock to Apple with their lack of connectivity and total lack of serviceability.
