I used to play a game on my old (very old) PC called chips, I think it came
with the PC, and I would like my grandson to play it. Can someone please let
me know where I can get a copy. We use XP now
Thanks

Hi JWF,

Can you bring it over from your old computer?
If not, do you recall who the game is made by?

Hi - more information - it was a little chap you went around collecting
microchips, you had to complete the game to move on to the next one, there
were a great many levels. You used to have to work things out before you
could move on.

Hi JWF,

That sounds like Chip's Challenge. Do these screenshots look familiar?

I wrote a game called Chips for the Spectrum years before the PC was
invented! Later a company bought all my games and ported them to the
PC but not, so far as I know, to Windows. It would be interesting if
it was the same game.

I had a Sinclair Spectrum - but I don't think I had "Chips"! I had a good
hot air ballooning game and The Hobbit...... ah that brings back fond
memories.

It sounds very familiar. The game I wrote ended by building a computer
from the chips. I was into building home computers at the time and
that gave me the idea for the game. The computer was built with the
Texas Instruments SN74xx range of chips. It was a real design and it
was supposed to work!

The screen shots posted are not the game I wrote. The graphics are
very different.

I can't remember those games. I'm still amazed by some of the stuff my
competitors wrote in 64KB. I gave up trying to compete in the games
world and switched my efforts to "real" software. It's a lot easier to
write!
