Chipset drivers, where are you?

I'm not really sure if I've installed the right chipset drivers for my new laptop, an Acer VN7-571G.

As usual, I went to the manifacturer website and downloaded all of the drivers from there, chipset included, installed all of them at once.

Still, it seems like Microsoft is the only company listed as the driver provider in the chipset section of the device manager, as if I'm still using the generic Windows 8 driver and not an updated one.

Also, there's no mention of Intel in the Universal Serial Bus controllers section, which I think is another sign of not having installed the latest chipset driver

Am I missing something? Where do I get the latest driver for my chipset?

You should update your BIOS also if it is not current.

Are those drivers compatible with mobile CPUs chipsets? Are you sure those are the specific drivers I need for my particular laptop model?
Just to be sure, I really don't want to mess things up righ now

These are the drivers that Intel gives to the OEM for the intel chipset. The OEM does not write/compile its own drivers for the chipset.

Intel's Chipset "drivers" don't provide drivers at all. They provide "inf" files that identify the hardware so Windows can use the appropriate drivers. That is why you see Microsoft for the entries.
