Chipset supports processor but motherboard does not!!!

Hello guys how are you? I currently have a motherboard on who's specification site it does not list anywhere that it supports Core 2 Quad, but i have intel g31 express chipset family and on intel spec sheet it list that it supports core 2 quad so right now i am stuck and can't decide whether or not my motherboard supports the core 2 quad. And if my motherboard does not support it can anybody tell me why it doesn't support. Thanks in advance. By the way my motherboard is Lenovo 9481D6U.

If the bios doesn't support the CPU, chipset support means nothing.

because they might didn't update the bios to support the cpu.

Well i saw the BIOS readme and there was no metion of core 2 quad. Guess i just have to buy a new motherboard. And to think i can save money. Well thanks for the help guys.
