Hello,

My pc keeps asking me to check disk on startup and this is worrying me because i had problems wth my HDD the same day, couldn't delete stuff, now i let chkdsk run overnight and it found 18 corrupted files in one log and 47 in another log. so it says "Please run chkdsk /scan to fully analyze the problems and queue them for repair" so i go to CMD, run as admin, i do chkdsk E: /scan and it takes an hour or something and comes back with
"windows has scanned the file system and found no problems.
No further action is required."
so, what do i do now?

UPDATE:
my rig:
windows 10
2 amd r hd 7950 DD normal edition (xfx pien group)
i7 2600K
8gb ram
amd catalyst version 15.11.1
MOBO MSI P67A-GD80 (MS-7672) version 2.0 and serialnumber "To be filled by O.E.M."

Thanks in advance
-Pim

Solution
The pending sectors are kind of weak sectors.

So, the HDD that you have tested(E: drive) is not your OS drive right? It is used only for storing some data right? If this is the case, my suggestion would be to back up all the data stored on it(move it to your OS drive let's say) and write zeros on the drive. You can re test it afterwards and see if you will get similar results. The writing zeros procedure sometimes fixes this pending sectors issue.

You can write zeros on the drive(full erase) with WD's Data Lifeguard Diagnostic tool. I guess you can run both short and extended tests after that.
Keep in mind that you need to back up the data stored on the drive as this is a data destructive process.

WD's DLG tool...

Thankyou for your reply,

The crystaldiskinfo says that my E is yellow, warning, when i hover on the warning sign it says:
"warning [c5] current pending sector count 12"

when i scroll down to C5 it has current 200, worst 200, over the line 0 ( sorry if thats not what is says its in dutch)

I also see that i have a windows.old on my C, but when i delete it it says i need to be allowed by SYSTEM to do so,
and FYI the E does not run windows,

my E also had 500mb unasigned data, i added to the available data but strangely enough, it worked, yesterday it said that the disk was broken or something( cant remember what is said, but it didnt work)

WD lifeguard diagnostics has a PASS as smart status?
i ran the crystaldiskinfo again and now the raw data is a B instead of a C

i am erasing it right now, i dont know if it is under warranty, dont think so..
I am not seeing any option to write zeros..

i pressed write zeros, yes a few times and i got a bluescreen something wiht unexpected cant remember, now i dont have an E in "my pc"
i booted into safe mode, and im writing zeros to the drive now, still not showing up at all only as physical drive

it's done writing zeros, doing a quick scan now, still no E:
got a PASS

crystaldiskinfo now says its good, currently doing the extended test

i now get this:
i went into diskmgmt.msc in CMD
it asks me to initialise the HDD, MBR or GPT, idont know which i should choose.
