chkdsk not running on reboot

I am currently running windows 7 on my laptop, trying to partition my only drive works out to be more difficult than expected, all was going well until i ran into an error telling me to run chkdsk, went ahead trying to run it through command, accepted that it would run chkdsk upon reboot however this did not happen.

tried multiple times however still seems not to be working ?

You do chdsk and leave your laptop running. When it's finished it will let you know. It'll do it in the background while you're doing your own thing

It could be an overwritten registry key/value or possibly a corrupt autochk.exe file. Look at this article on how to repair it.
