Choice between amd or evga?

The GTX 960 is only better on power safe... It only take 120Watts.

R9 290 is only slightly weaker than a GTX 970, and has more VRAM.

The GTX 960 is closer to R9 280 and 280x.

290 is the best choice, given the prices. I would recommend a 600w PSU, if possible, but I'm sure a 500w would be fine with an Intel processor.
