Choice Between Two Graphics Cards

Hello everyone,

I need to update my graphics card, but I am not sure which one I should purchase. Here are my two choices:

To me, they look very similar, but that could just be my own ignorance.

Both are in my price range and both will work with my power supply. Any suggestions are more than welcome!

The R9 270 is much stronger than the GT740.

This one - http://pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-video-card-r9270xgaming2g is cheaper and more powerful again.

Definitely go with the MSI R9 270. It is much, much better than the EVGA GT 740. It would vastly outperform it.

That's what I was leaning towards anyway, but I just wanted to make sure.

So I know for the future though, what makes it superior?

The MSI has a faster GPU, better cooling and it has faster memory.
