Hi guys, I'm planning an upgrade from a 2500k (long overdue) to this config:

CPU: Ryzen 5 2600X (and in 1-2 years I plan to upgrade it to 3000 or 4000)
MB: MSI B450M MORTAR MAX (because it already has the updated Bios for Ryzen 3000, if I upgrade again)

And now my dilemma, which of these kits of ram (2x8) is the best option for my build (these are my only options and best prices in my country):

1. G.Skill Aegis DDR4 16GB 3200MHz CL16 (F4-3200C16D-16GIS) = 65 €
2. G.Skill RipV K2 DDR4 3200MHz 16GB CL16 (F4-3200C16D-16GVKB) = 71
3. G.Skill Ripjaws V DDR4 16 GB 3200 MHz, CL16 (F4-3200C16D-16GVGB) = 71

For the first 3 kits I found info that they are all compatible with my MB, but for these next 2 I can't find compatibility info:

4. PATRIOT 16GB Viper 4 DDR4 3200MHz CL16 (PV416G320C6K) = 69
5. PATRIOT 16GB Viper Steel DDR4 3600MHz CL17 (PVS416G360C7K) = 82

So basically I have 2 questions:

A. Are the 2 Patriot kits compatible with my MB?
B. Which kit would be the best for now and future proofing? I want to buy the 3600MHz kit, even if I will only be able to use it now up to 3466MHz with Ryzen 5 2600X.

If someone can help me with this I would very much appreciate it.

They all are. 3200MHz with Cl16 is best choice.
Thanks for the reply.

So you say even if MSI nor Patriot specifies that PATRIOT 16GB Viper Steel DDR4 3600MHz CL17 kit works on that MB, they actually do work at 3466MHz or 3600MHz depending on the CPU (2600x or 3600x)?

Also, if I buy one of the G.Skill Ripjaws can I OC them to 3600MHz CL17 like the Viper Steel one?

I should have said, best deal as with 2nd gen Ryzen it's the point of diminishing returns.

Yeah, for 2600X the 3200MHz kit would be the best deal, but I plan to upgrade next year or in 2 years time, on the same MB which ever CPU is better and I can afford. So will the 3200MHz kit be able to OC higher than 3466MHz kit? That's why I'm considering the 3600MHz kit, which theoretically can OC even higher...

Well, you can get 3600 even if you can't run it at 3600, lower Cl would compensate for frequency somewhat.
Not sure about OC-ing 3200 to anything much higher on that MB.

Hm, I found this post on the forums and this guy says he managed to OC the same 3200 MHz ram kit to 3733 MHz > https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/what’s-the-best-ram-to-pair-with-the-ryzen-3600-cpu.3516566/post-21285269

Also MSI B450M Mortar Max should support OC up to 4133 MHz with Ryzen 3000 as they say on their site > https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/B450M-MORTAR-MAX/Specification

So maye it works...

If maybe is good enough for you OK, I managed to oc my RAM to 4000 but results were lower performance.

I have this motherboard on a 3600x and Patriot Viper Steel 3600mhz cl17.. I don’t know how to fix my ram it only shows 2133 in the bios. Maybe its not compatible?
