I bet your answer will be 4000 mHz 19-19-19-39 there, and tighten timings... But please listen
I just upgraded my PC 1.5 months ago (from 10 yo rig), and currently use LPX Vengeance 3200 16-18-18-36 because it was cheap and guaranteed stable with my system, without notch.
But... i am feeling like i want a bit more, not that i actually will get more though.
Current system:
CPU: Ryzen 5 5600X
GPU: GeForce 1060 3GB (yeah... upgrade now is REALLY expensive... 1660 is around 870 USD rn for us, and 3060 around 1150 USD... like WTF!!!)
RAM: LPX Vengeance 3200 16-18-18-36 with OC 3333 16-18-18-36... (same 1.35V)
Motherboard: Gigabyte Aorus B550M Elite v 1.X...
Not that you may need know more there.
Motherboard memory support written up to 4733 (which i kinda sceptical about, but all right, not that it matters).
Right now for me there is choise between 2 affordable (and bit less affordable) memory upgrades. Actually i am not native english speaking man, and live not in english country or EU, so don't know sites to link up that you can understand, so i will link up full tags.
1. Kingston FURY Renegade [KF436C16RBK2/16] 3600 CL 16 (16-20-20-39) for 7099 RUR (converts currently to 96.74 USD... and yes, with our exchange values, stuff is more expensive that it may be in USD)...
From reviews it have Hynix C/D die and pretty solid heat spreader. Which kinda catch my eye definitely.
2. Patriot Viper Steel [KF436C16RBK2/16] 4000 CL 19 (19-19-19-39) for 8399 RUR (converts to approx 114.5 USD)... I heard that Viper memory can sometimes not be accepted by system and also that their heatsink is not as well done as competitors, but well, only some comments somewhere, no more... But from what i heard 1-1-1-X means that there are Samsung B-die and they are really good...
I don't have any better choises as it is either 3600 CL 18 or price rise up to 12000+ RUR (163.5 USD), which is unbearable for me right now.
I am not advanced overclocker and don't go hard in terms of pushing voltages to get more, but i like to get more efficiency from what i bought, so tighter timings and maybe more frequency at same voltage will be nice.
Main question... Is Patriot Viper Steel good one? Or i should play safe? Because i am not even sure my R5 5600X can actually work well with 19-19-19-39 at 4000 mT (or mHz, idk already how it is right)... Because my CPU kinda choked when i tried to tighen up timings on my current memory from 16-18-18-36 to 16-16-16-36. But i guess reason for this because LPX Vengeance use Hynix M-die, and not CPU problem.
P.S. kinda hope for enchancing my 1% and 0.1% low FPS
P.P.S None of these 2 memory typed weren't mentioned in memory support list, i guess they are just newer
