I have everything a growing boy needs..

1.2 GHz 266 MHz AMD processor w fan
Asus A7V133
DeskStar HD (45 Gig)
256 Meg of RAM (crucial)
Enermax PS 431W
Toshiba 16X DVD
Asus V7700 Pure 32 MB

But the case will not be here until next week. My question is can I set it up to burn it in before the case gets here or does the MB need to be attached to the case? For a ground maybe? If it does not harm anything to run it outside of the case how do you power it up? Short across the connector the would go to the power switch?

Just chompin' at the bit...

Seen it done. Had my motherboard on a plexiglass tray or something. But I don't know the exacts. Nonetheless, they just shorted out the power pins and got it going. Note that you'll need your floppy plugged in to get it running correctly.
