Question Choose an UPS, stands between Eaton 5PX2200IRTN or APC SMT1000IC

Hi.

I was asked to get a new replacement UPS for a network switch (24W @ 230VAC) by the department and the supplier has two models that can be delivered shortly, so I'd choose one of those UPS models.

The APC model is by far the cheapest. However, I cannot find user reviews for neither models that says anything about life expectancy nor rate of failure. Unless of course on the web page for Eaton and APC, but any manufacturer are expected to emphasize the positive aspects to their own products.

What model would you choose out of those models ?

Neither of the two are compatible.

EATON only operates at 120V and outputs 120V. So, it will not work.

APC has minimum load of 70W, while your device is 24W. So, it will not work either.

The two UPSes you linked, are good UPSes, line-interactive topology and true/pure sine wave output. But they are NOT for the powering of the tiny device you're looking to back up. Those UPSes are meant to back up entire high-end PC, not just one small device.

In the Eaton link you actually can select countries that use 230V such as for example UK (select your location). Though when having done that, it seems easier to find info about their view of slavery and human trafficking, than it is to find info about their products.

Me? Well, it's the company's budget so I don't care as long as it works.

The supplier (scandinavian) have a model with correct voltage. The general web site of Eaton may suggest otherwise.
But thanks for the heads up, still - so I can contact the supplier and get confirmation about the voltage levels.

This needs to determine what "not work" actually means.
If you by "not work" mean it cannot calculate remaining battery time, then I'm ok with that.
