If you look at multiplayer game. Does it makes a difference where to buy a game. For example microsoft, steam, epic games, EA. I can imagine the platform have different services. But some people say it makes a difference. Like the amount of people playing on a server can be lower at the other provider. I don't know if thats true. Or does everybody see the same players online, nevertheless the different channel they buy

Solution
Thanks for the answer. I still find it difficult to understand. So the launcher is just the portal that installs the software on your'e pc and make you open and run the game. After opening on the launcher your're pc is running the game on its hardware and the portal connects to the server. Is that correct? Does that mean all people will be seen on the multiplayer game. No matter if they are using UPlay, Origin or Epic . So everybody can play with everybody?

It usually is the installer but sometimes is just the launcher. Ive bought Ubisoft games on Steam and it will install via Steam, however when I launch it it will open up uPlay (downloads it first if its not already installed on your PC) then launches.

Basically no matter...
Doesn't matter where you buy a game, the game itself will uses its own set of servers. However anymore each developer feels the need to have a launcher so you more or less will be forced to use UPlay, Origin, Epic etc.

Basically no matter what the launcher is the most important thing it does is act as a copy right protection DRM.

Yes all people will see one another no matter what the platform is as long as they are in the game, except for console players although some games do have cross-play. The biggest issue is friends lists, with each separate launcher they have their own social environment, some allow you to sync with Steam some require you to make a separate account (username, password etc).

Personally I always have Steam open no matter what game I'm playing, its the biggest platform for PC Players and has text and voice chat functionality built right in then I link up in whatever game/platofrm to play with friends. Some people also tend to use Discord for their friends and chat then link up in whatever game they want.

Thanks. That answers the question perfectly.
