Hi all,

could you please offer me some advice on a computer. I am looking for a computer that I can use for university. I will be using it as a workstation and I will not be gaming on it. Below is a break down of what I will be using it for:

  • 20% Autocad
  • 20% Premiere pro and After Effects
  • 50% word processing and microsoft excel, Matlab
  • 10% recreational youtube
I will certainly need the ability to multitask as I will have 3 monitors and I will have multiple programs open at once.

I am trying to decide between the i9 9900k with the quadro P2000 and the Ryzen 2700 with the rtx 2070.

Which one would be the better choice for my applications? or is there something better I should consider. My budget is around $3000 AUD.

Could you please offer me some advice.

Thank you

Kim

Out of your choices the 9900k is superior to the r7 2700. The rtx 2070 is far superior to the quadro p2000.

If those two builds are your choices I would pick the r7 and 2070 combo.

If you go with a good quality X470 board you will have an upgrade path to the new zen 2 cpus.

Just my opinion.
