Choosing a different Z170 gaming board

I have had many troubles with the board i'm currently using, (ASUS Maximus VIII Hero)
1st thing was when i got it the front audio jack on it (AAFP) buzzes and makes tons of other noise, i have tried every possible way to get this fixed, even windows on a different drive didn't help

2nd upon arrival the usb 3.0 header on the bottom had a pin bent all the way to the bottom, i didn't notice and the pin broke off when i was plugging the connector in.

3rd, my pcie lock broke, no biggie as long as i have screws holding my gpu in

Now im not gonna hate on Asus because of this, i was just wondering is there another good board i can get if this board develops more issues
(Stay in the $150-$230 range)
Also im not gonna try and rma it because they would probally reject it for the broken pins on the usb 3.0 header

Might look at the Asus Z170 Pro Gaming. It's a very good mobo, I went the Hero and love it, may have had bad look with the one, but I'd consider getting it again

read many good things about the Z170 Gigabyte boards (Gaming5/UltraGaming) besides fan control (4 PIN case fans are actually not PWM, CPU fans are though)

Or you go with EVGA they don't come cheap though.

Asus usually has a great product maybe you just got a bad sample?

I think Hero is better, It was just an accident.
if you not want to asus , i will suggest you buy Z170A GAMING PRO CARBON or Z170A GAMING M7.
this two motherboard have pci-e armor can protect your pcie slots.

Probally just bad luck, i was actually considering the VIII Ranger, $159 on newegg and its basically my board missing 2 sata ports and a io cover

It's a little bro to the Hero Good mobo, doesn't get much attention though

1st, the trouble with the front Jacks buzzing almost always isn't the mobo, its the case. 1 of 2 things. 1 being those Jacks tend to share their ground with other items like the USB, pita to fix that. 2 being interference due to really cheap unshielded cables running around the 24pin cables etc. This accounts for very little if any noise, but is suspect. 1 is the most common. Easy to check, just unplug everything goin to the front cable by cable. To fix, just find an alternative way to ground the plugs.

2nd. That USB pin is fixable, if you can solder, or not if you are thinking of RMA.

3rd. It's a hunk of plastic that's usually impossible to easily disengage once the pc is finished, you aren't the first to break one by any stretch of the imagination. One of mine busted, and my answer was to take the slide rule from a circular saw and turn it into a gpu support bracket. Looks factory, all satin black and rubber stopped. So no worries there unless I drop the pc on the window. (not ever gonna happen).

Ive dealt with Asus support for years, never had an issue with any RMA. They may take a minute sometimes, and they aren't big on explanation as to what was fixed, but they have always gotten the job done to my satisfaction.

Even with these issues i doubt this board will die on me, i found a board from 2007 with a e8400 and it was all dusty and corroded, it turned on just fine. It would be alive if one of the capacitors wasn't corroded tho the point a bump would knock it off

Also have any ideas on this bs, its the audio issue. Ive even tried a headphone jack adapter not even on the case, i suspect an internal motherboard problem, and it only effects the front panel audio (I dont use that very much) so i just have a hub on the back of my case that gives me 6 more 3.5mm headphone jacks
