Choosing A Gaming Graphics Card

Solution
1. Pcpartpicker misses the boat again.... the MSI is $320 on newegg

2. It's not about the few faster MHz of speed.... It's about the 6+2 power phases, use of thermal pads in memory and VRM, fan shutoff at cooler temps, independently controlled fans, Hi-c CAP and Solid CAP type capacitors and Super Ferrite Chokes which provide for reduced heat, longer life and quieter operation.

3. It comes down between the Gigabyte and the MSI .... Giga has an issue due to its length (12.28") as it won't fit in some cases. I prefer the MSI .... It's the quietest .... Asus / EVGA ain't even in the running as I haven't seen a review yet where they broke 1500 MHz (Giga and MSI just about always do). The devil is in the details and you can see...

for the gtx 970 any model such as EVGA ASUS and MSI are good just find one with a good cooler and you can get the faster MHZ back yourself by overclocking a littlebit with simple programs like MSI AFTERBURNER and EVGA PRECISION

Honestly i feel like it comes down to your color scheme at this point. They are all great cards and while i have the MSI Gaming 4G, which i'm very happy with, that is because all my other components are red and black. What is your color scheme?, and if you don't care, yes i would recommend spending the extra $10-$20 on the MSI Gaming golden addition because not only is it faster, it has a sexy blackplate unlike the regular MSI card.

Then yes, i would recommend the MSI Gaming 4G if you have a windowed case because it fits in perfectly with the red and black color scheme and runs amazing.

BTW, if ya can get it into ya budget.... I'd look at the MSI Gaming 5 ..... again it and the Gigabyte have been fighting for supremacy in the Z97 MoBo arena
