I am now putting a GPU into my system that I have been running without one. I recently purchased a 500w power supply so I am ready to get one.

Should I get the R7 370 since its new, or pay around the same price for the R9 270?
Ive heard from several sources that the R7 370 is slightly better but, on GPUboss the R9 270 wins by a pretty fair amount.

So what one would I get. Either one will be better than just using my APU. So ill be happy either way. My budget is no more than 200$

On most reviews i checked, the R7 370 beats the R9 270 by a tiny margin. Both cards are essentially the same, but the 370 is slighly overclocked. If you buy a R9 270 for a lower price (it should be cheaper because it's older) you will get essentially the same card. You might even find a R9 270X (which is faster than R7 370) at the same price.
Don't get fooled by the "4GB is better than 2GB" nonsense, at the resolutions you will play with that kind of card, 2GB is more than enough, a 2GB 270X will beat 4GB 370 in every single benchmark on its intended resolution.

Edit: GPU information on gpu boss is inaccurate, don't trust it. It's based on theoretical data and not actual benchmarks.

You can't really go wrong with either R9 270, R9 270X or R7 370. All of them will yeld similar results. Just be sure to buy a quality card with good cooler like the MSI TwinFrozr you linked, Asus Direct CUII (or strix) or Gigabyte Windforce like this one:

Direct X is not out yet so nobody knows for sure. AMD told that all GCN GPUs will support it but the support will probably not be complete. It will take some time before DX12 is widely adopted so you shouldn't care so much. Mind you, it will be available only on windows 10.

I got the R9 270 I got a used one for 82$ off Ebay and it works fine I played CSGO I went from playing everything on lowest settings with 60fps to maxed out 150fps lol
But why does my friend who has a standard GTX 750 get higer fps than I do?

You won't notice anything above 60FPS unless your monitor has a refresh rate above 60 Hz. Also at FPS above 100, CPU speed is more important than GPU. Does he have a better processor? Does he has the same monitor and same quality settings?

I tried CS:GO at 90, 120 and 200 FPS and guess what, there was no difference at all on my 60Hz monitor.
