Hello! I'm planning on building a computer and I am up to choosing a graphics card. And I am feeling rather overwhelmed at the selection... I really would appreciate any help possible! I love playing games. At the moment I'm into counter strike global offensive and Garry Mod... I would like something that would support HD gaming and possibilities to run more graphics heavy games in the future. Money is a bit of an issue but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. Thanks in advance!

Copying exactly what I just posted..

A great card IMO would be the HD 7870 2gb series great performance for a great price. and if you ever feel like you need more power just buy another one and crossfire it. One card will be just fine for quite a while, as long as your not a graphics nazi!!!

it not stupid to ask now to see what a gaming build would be. with a gaming rig on a budget you want to balace the cpu and gpu cost in the build. buying a old slow cpu is going to bottle neck some gpu. also with the cpu comes the type of core (amd) or intel line. amd cpu will give you more money for the gpu then an intel will. be carefull on the amd core you buy..some are slower then intel i3 some are faster. newer amd apus do have built in gpu that are better at mid/low end gaming. if your close to a micro center they do have good sales on a lot of parts. with pc building sometime you can drive by order of good price on parts (sales). when you look at new egg and micro center daily deals. things like cases and power supplys you can pick up and hold. mb/ram/cpu want buy at the same time..need to test them to see if there not doa withing 30 day return window. with cases the r-200 from cosair not bad case at it price point. a few of the newer cases listed on toms hardware front page from gigbyte dont look bad for gaming cases.
