Choosing a HSF

Hello guys, I am in the middle of choosing an aftermarket cooler for the following specs:

AMD Phenom II x4 955
MSI 790GX-G65
CoolerMaster RC-690

Based on frostytech's reviews, I have narrowed down to CoolerMaster V8 and Xigmatek DarkKnight-1283.

To be honest, I favor V8 over DK. However, two issues come in. Can V8 fit into CoolerMaster RC-690? The other thing is that the RAM slots are positioned very close to the CPU socket, those of you using the same board would know. If that is the case, then will either of these coolers block out the RAM slots?

Help is very much appreciated. Thank you.

Solution
Yes, the Coolermaster V8 will fit in their 690 pc case.

The heatsink wil not interfere with standard memory. Install the memory before installing the heatsink. It's a lot easier that way.

The heatsink will interfere with memory that has the extra tall heatspreaders that sort of look like a comb. For the typical gamer the memory with the extra tall heatspreaders is a waste of time.

Solution
Thanks Johnny. I am using Kingston Value RAM, KVR1333. I do not need great timings nor memory overclocking as I strongly believe that the difference they make is minimal. I plan on making my rig 8GB so that it provides enough resources for development work, which is why I need all four slots to be "clear".
