Choosing a LCD

hi all,
I'm going to buy a new monitor in about a month's time. The trouble is I'm totally undecided as to what kind it should be. I'd go with a CRT as well gladly, though all the models I saw were too expensive.

usage:
1) lots of programming, pdf reading, surfing (6-10 hours a day)
2) ocassinal webdesign, photo retouching
3) some 3d gaming
4) a movie now and then

I'm aiming at a 17 or 19 inch monitor in the range or about 600 USD (but if you have an excellent suggestion that is more expansive, I'm willing to consider it!).

I know I'm not going to find a LCD that can do all of this, but at least I'd like to find something that comes as close as possible (however far that it)

thanks

There are a few good Viewsonic, Benq, NEC, and Samsung monitors well within your budget that are also bigger than 19". Just look on Newegg and pick out 3 or 4 that you like and come back here once you whittle down your choices.

I know some of the Viewsonics like the 2025 or the 2035 would suffice unless you want the 930b. Benq has a nice widescreen 21 or 22".
