Hey guys basically I need a new gaming headset and I'm looking for some help choosing.
I'm after a USB headset which is 7.1 surround sound. Basically i want to get the best quality headset i can which means sound and mic quality and build reliability, I don't want it to break after a month. My max budget is £50.

Solution
Raise your budget by 4 quid and buy this great headset:

Headphones: Kingston HyperX Cloud Pro Headset (£54.83 @ Scan.co.uk)
Total: £54.83
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

Great build quality AND sound quality. Picking a different headset lower in price will be a huge step down.

Agreed. HyperX Cloud Pro is one of the only decent headsets around. (I use headphones and a desk mic.) Cloud Pro is the perfect balance between build quality, sound, mic performance and price.

Maybe try to read about surround and if it ACTUALLY helps with foot steps etc. Most professional gamers don't use surround, because It's worse rather than any better at all. Besides that it is important to know how good your motherboard/soundcard audio is.

I do not recommend any surround headset, especially not in this price range.

Anyways, here the 7.1 version including an audio chip in the adapter. The Cloud II 7.1 for a bit more:

Headphones: Kingston HyperX Cloud II 7.1 Channel Headset (£63.77 @ Amazon UK)
Total: £63.77
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available
