Choosing a Video Card(s)

Im looking into purchasing a new system that I will be building myself, so far Im quite sure of two things, an Intel 2 Duo Core 6600 and an ASUS P5W DH Deluxe. I was considering getting 2 graphics cards for it one PCI Express and one PCI, go with a dual screen set up. But what I was wondering was whats the best graphics card for the price, prefferably under 300 closer to 250, that performs well in games, mainly FPS online games, but can also handle decent looks on a TV/DVD or anything like some graphic art.

So what do yall think the best PCI Express card for the price and performance is and can keep up? I read the XFX GeForce 7900 GT is good for the price but Im not sure. Also whats a good PCI card?

Im not to sure on dual screen setups cause ive never done that myself i would not like to give you rong information. But i would use dual 7600gs's that cost me $273.98 at newegg but those where the nice silent asus cards you can get a off brand setup for cheaper.

Well ut2k4 works maxed at 1600x1200, wow is maxed at 1600x1200, doom3 runs into some problems the gpu isnt strong enough to handle the high AA and AF settings. There great for the price i would highley recommend going with one strong card unless your going passed 1600x1200 res.

You don't need two graphics cards for a dual screen setup. Almost every graphics card now has 2 monitor outputs the can drive seperate screens.

If you want good gaming performance get the x1900XT 256MB for around $250. I've heard 7900GTO recommended too in that price range.

$250 video card on a C2D setup? x1900xt 256MB card all the way. Will easily handle two screens, no PCI card needed.

Isnt' the 7900GTO around $300? It is faster then the x1900xt, but also $50 more.
