My old 500W PSU does not handle my current computer but as it was a cheap one would like to know if a good 550w psu can handle it or should i buy a 650w.

AMD FX-8350 4GHz
ASUS 970 Pro Gaming/Aura
2 X 4GB 1600MHz DDR3
WD Blue 1TB
AMD RX 580 ASUS Strix Rog Top OC
around 5 120mm case fans

both 550 and 650 watt psu i was looking for are EVGA G3 series and i would like to know if the 550W is enought if there is still enought space for further upgrades like water cooling SSD and so on, not planning on overclock my cpu.
Thanks.

Even a 1080Ti only uses about 250W in FurMark. Add 150W for everything else in the PC, that gets you to 400W of real power requirement instead of "recommended" PSU rating. A high quality 550W PSU is more than comfortable for anything but the most outrageous single-GPU setups.
Your power needs are primarily gated by your graphics card/s.
Here is a handy chart; it assumes a normal complement of cpu and peripherals:

That said,
I have no problem overprovisioning a PSU a bit. Say 20%.
It will run cooler, quieter, and more efficiently in the middle third of it's range.
A PSU will only use the wattage demanded of it, regardless of it's max capability.

It looks to me like 600w should handle even a GTX1080ti.
There may be some seriously overclocked cards now or in the future that could use more, so I would err on the strong size for your psu.

I had to underclock my cpu to 1.4GHz because after some mins of use the PSU shut down and my PSU only have 4 pin cpu connector and my motherboard need 8 pin connector, btw it was a 2012 25€ psu and already burnt 2 motherboards in the past xD

some people (yes me too) need to hit their head a couple times before they learn.

Thank you and what about further upgrades like changing mobo to am4 and getting a ryze cpu and ddr4 ram will it be suitable ?

Ye i had no idea what this PSU was capable of when i bought it turned out now i know a lot more and noticed that it has no 8 pin nor PCIe for the graphic card as well 😀

Makes no difference, still fits within the 150W "everything else" envelope. Even ThreadRipper or Core X should only be an extra ~50W above that as long as you stick to single GPU.
