Hello everyone,

I'm currently in the process of planning a new build aimed at video editing and gaming. I've been considering both Intel and AMD processors, specifically the Intel i9-14900 and the AMD 7800X3D. I'd greatly appreciate your insights based on your experience or thoughts rather than personal preferences or existing loyalties.
My primary concern is achieving a setup that offers exceptional performance without necessarily sticking to a specific brand or model. If anyone has recommendations that could help lower the overall cost without compromising performance or perhaps even improving it, I'd be very interested in hearing your suggestions.

Thank you all in advance for your valuable input.

Why the 7800x3d and not the 7950x3d? Against the top CPU of intel you should pair the top CPU of AMD.
Now, the x3d have a good advantage on games that can use the cache but are slower in all the other games and lot of other things.
If you would get the non-f version of the 14900 it has an iGPU that will be used by many video editing softwares to speed things up by a good bit.
At the end it's up to you, neither one is going to be disappointing.

if you prioritize video editing over gaming, intel 14700k with its iGPU and quick sync feature is the best choice.

and you dont gain much from DDR5 rams. save some cash and get DDR4 mobo and rams.

if you choose Ryzen 7950X, get the AM5 offset mounts from noctua.
