So I've looked around on the internet and thought that these 2 build were pretty good (I'm a newb, so I could be terribly wrong), but I don't know which one is better.
These are the two builds:
1. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/xtn44D
2. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/JHYt99

My thoughts were that the first one is a bit better because it has more cores, and I've heard someone saying that future games may need more cores. But again, I'm a newb, so if you please would leave your thoughts on these build that would be very helpful!

Both builds are good. I personally will go with the intel build because intel is better for almost everything out there. They run cooler, consumes less power and there is nothing out there that can take advantage of the 8 cores of AMD (and AMD cores are weaker than intel).

I will advise to drop the CX and get a XFX 650 PSU. For 5/15$ extra, it's great, much better than the CX. CX series in not reliable for high end systems.

Also rather than Corsair Spec 01, get a Spec 02, just because it has one intake and one exhaust fan :)
Stick with Intel platform for better performance. Check this build:
