Please help me choose a cooler for 9700k. I think i will be overclock it to ~ 5 GHz, the question of cooling arose, I thought to take a deepcool captain 240ex, but I noticed that they often write about what it is leaking and decided to take air cooling, only 2 Deepcool Assassin models are available 2 ($ 74) and Thermaltake Frio Extreme Silent 14 Dual ($ 91), is it worth the overpayment for Thermaltake? Coolers of the type bequiet, noctua, are absent in the country, and to order is expensive.

1) As I understood, you don't recommend to buy any AIO?
2) You think assassin 2 will be not enough for 5GHz 9700K?
P.S. For personal interest. How much will Assassin 2 lose in performance for this 2 coolers(captain, frio silent)?
P.S.S Sorry for my English

1. I do not personally, no. I much prefer a quality Air cooler - but many users successfully run AIOs without issue, so a failure is not a guarantee by any means. As far as AIOs go, the Captain 240ex is a good option.

2. The Assassin II should be fine.

The Assassin II should perform similarly to the Frio Silent, with a couple of degrees. Vs the Captain, it will run a little warmer - the Captain 240ex would should perform very similarly to the NH-D15 that is listed in the Assassin II review.

Your English is fine, don't worry.

Still for the final answer, deepcool 240ex or Assassin 2?

Only you can decide that.

Likely to be a ~5'C improvement with the 240EX.

The Assassin II is $74? How much is the 240EX? If it's more than say $90, then I'd go with the Assassin II regardless.

If it's close in price, then the 240EX would be the 'better' performer - but does add in the additional points of failure from being an AIO.

The price of 240ex ~ 105-110$, and i find video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hAk_n4Dph9Q where see the not such a big difference in performance, compared to price. (Time code 2:47, 3:30)
In the end i can add that reliability above beauty for me personally, because the air cooler can serve for "decades", and replace only the fans.
Big thank you for help!
