Choosing CPU for Maximum Setting for ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe MotherBoard.

Hi,

I am looking to purchase best CPU for ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe MotherBoard. My processor currenly is listed in Linux OS as AMD Athlon(tm) 64 FX -60 Dual Core Processor x 2, but I would like to change it for the one that would provide my PC the maximum setting. I have 4 Gb of RAM installed already. My power supply might currently be 500w or 550w.

I hope someone can guide me. I will probably try finding such CPU from Ebay. Please also note that my manual for this ASUS motherboard stated

CPU: "Socket 939 for AMD Athlon 64 FX/64 X2/64 and Sempron processor"

...to compare which processor is the fastest depending on which ones show up on ebay. They are getting pretty scarce by now. And the ones still available would have been through several hands by now I would imagine. Be sure your BIOS is updated to recognize the one you decide on. (use the list above)

Thanks. I have just checked both of the links that you gave. I believe I already have the best CPU (2.6 Mhz), so I do not need to change it. The solution given here -> http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/297298-28-upgrade-a8n32-deluxe also mentioned the same.
